Is it August yet??

Well, we are trying to stay busy around here and help time fly by but its not quite happening.

Caden is obsessed with doing puzzles right now, which is great for everyone keeps him occupied I feel like a great mom and he can do them all by himself(except for the spider man one we bought and did NOT notice it said 500 pieces=yikes). He'll do the same puzzles everyday. Thank goodness for the dollar store I can buy cheap ones there. If you know of any other places that sell inexpensive but pre-school friendly puzzles let me know. I think this age is just the best, everyone says "you think two is bad, wait til three" And I totally disagree, he understands more, communicates more and he is just so much fun!!

Eric is doing great, he is doing a different job right now(works at the Battalion Office) than Drill so he is home all the time and works civilian hours. It is amazing! And we are so appreciative for the time we have together as a family.
Eric is getting more anxious to get out of the Army and start the rest of our life and finish his college education. We are so close we can taste it.

Me just pushing through trying not to hit the pregnancy wall. But, I did find these amazing Rainer Cherries(some call them Queen Anne Cherries) at the commissary. Hallelujah! When I was in Junior High a good friend of mine Megan had a tree of these cherries in their yard and said they were getting rid of buckets of these. For free!! I was never a bing cherry fan but thought I would try these and mmmmmmmmmm. Not enough mmms mmmmmm, they are so good! Out west you can find them anywhere especially in UT they are in peoples yards. But out East these puppies are a fine delicatessen, and a little pricey but totally worth the splurge. Doesn't the picture make your mouth drool?

The Room

Well we are in our 34th week and it's crazy but I'm ready for her.
To meet her, to see how she looks like Caden, me or Eric.
To introduce her to her big brother.
To melt my strong husbands heart.
We are ready to welcome this little girl into our family BUT we will be patient and wait for her to grow stronger, bigger and healthier each day.

So for now we nest, here is her room

I really enjoyed sewing and putting this room together for her. I was able to sew things I never have before and I think it turned out pretty good.

God Bless America

We had such a great 4th of July weekend. Eric got super lucky and got a 4 day Wahoo!!

The 4th was great, our ward had a big BBQ with slip'n slide and a pool and TONS of great food, trust me I pulled the pregnancy card big time. It was great food and GREAT company. We were there for hours. I think Caden was swimming all but 20 minutes. He had a blast to say the least.

Came home to re-coup and had a excellent nap.

Then headed downtown to Columbus to see the fireworks with Cadens little buddy Olivia and her family the Israels and a new family in the ward that are just so cute and nice and have the curtest little boy. The kids had a great time together and Caden LOVED the fireworks. Olivia thought they were a little loud but I think appreciated the colors. We had a great spot too. Afterwards we went back to their house and shot off some fireworks we bought and did sparklers, which Caden didn't really like. But the rest of us sure did, what adult does enjoy spelling their name in sparkler?

Such a great day.

Love+Fireworks=Us

I'm about to tell you a story that has changed my life forever but please keep in mind I'm terrible at writing and it never sounds as good as when Eric does it.

It was July 4 2002 at my friend and I Lindsay were at the town park(Waukee, IA) and we were hanging out and she started talking/flirting with this guy Aaron well in return he invited to a party his friend was having.

We drive out to the country to this guys house and see a bunch of people in a hot tub singing Kenny Chesney's song "One bottle of wine and two dixie cups...." As I was standing on the side I saw him. Eric Slaughter thump, thump, my heart I had been wildly infatuated with this idiot Mormon boy that I had semi-dated but Eric slipped this turd of a guy out of my thoughts.

We talked I was told he had a girlfriend...of course. We watched Top Gun because that's what you do right? And finally after spending hours talking to this guy and starting pathetically at him.......I totally kissed him, I know I'm a home wrecker but it was worth it. And I gave him my phone number and said "Call me when your single".

I told my mom the next day that I met the boy of my dreams, that he had a girlfriend and that I kissed him. Yikes!! Who knew this boy would end of being the love of my life and the father of my children. I'm a lucky woman and love that 4th of July always reminds me of that night.

Not two eyes, just one

We started patching Caden's eye today.

For those that are a little bit behind Caden has Strabismus-basically one eyes muscle is not as strong as it should be so it wanders. By patching the good eye it strengthens the muscles of the bad one.

I'll be honest there is some bribing but right now we'll do what we need to do to keep it on and get him comfortable with it.

Things in the room..

This is my little un-named girl's first doll. Isn't it sweet my Mom looked all over Spain and Madrid for this doll. So precious.

And I feel like I always need a basket for blankets and burp clothes etc and was going to toss this basket but had a great idea to paint it. I think it turned out pretty cute.

And lastly I found a really cute idea for a blanket and here's how it turned out.

Bigger and bigger

I know bask in my beauty...j/k. It's a known fact us Fuller girls are rocking beauty's when we're pregnant, BUT luckily enough we have husbands who will love us those 9 months anyways.

Pregnancy's going pretty well, heartburn's kickin my butt-but good news according to old wives tale this little girl should have a head full of hair from it, whos buying that? Not me, but I'll keep wishful thoughts going. Feeling pretty good overall, pregnancy is ten times easier when you stay at home and not work or go to school.

We are registered at the hosptial and inching closer to the end, Caden seems pretty excited

Can't you tell? But serious he really is.

Well, the heat is on now. and It's summer break. So, we are trying to stay busy.

We bought Caden a little 20 dollar pool for the backyard and we are going to pool with friends to stay busy.

And we have been going to a community pool a lot lately, Caden loves it and its great for his age they have a beach entry, waterfalls, buckets that drop water. And super inexpensive, how great is that??

So, I figure if I'm going to be huge and hot this summer I might as well be golden tan.

Lately anytime Caden see's old people like 60, 70, 80 year olds he asks if that's his grandma, grandpa, grandma, papa?

Random old people, you get the idea

Which doesn't make sense because his grandparents are young, two aren't even 50 yet and the other two are in there mid-50s. So not sure why he thinks the super elderly are his grandparents. Maybe he's just missing them.

We had a good Father's Day weekend, we went swimming just the three of us, which was really fun. Eric slept in, we had church and a potluck afterwards, then Eric got a Awesome Sunday nap. We had delicious homemade waffles with all the good topping, I spiced Erics up by adding chopped pecans and cinnamon.

Eric is a truly great dad to Caden and I know he will be to our little girl. He just makes Caden laugh and teaches Caden about all the important boy stuff, ya know like Transformers and such. Eric had an opportunity to take Caden to a work party with bouncers etc and I couldn't go because Enrichment was the same time and I can't tell you how much fun the two of them had, and just how close they are. So close, our son who is so sweet but hates to cuddle, fell asleep in Erics arms. You might as well put Eric in heaven.

My father-in-law Larry was an amazing example to Eric and taught him great principles that he passes onto his children. Larry is a true, honest man that works hard and is always there for his family.

And my dad is great man! He is so loving and thoughtful, he is so fun to see with all his grandchildren it's almost like a second time around as a Dad and I think my dad is having a blast with all the grand kids...maybe because he send them back to their parents:)

Mowing the Lawn in Georgia...

Eric mowed the front and back lawn yesterday.

Caden decided to be his shadow and mow with his little lawn mower.

This is the result of him mowing:

Edited to add: Caden is not sunburnt just SO hot he turned that red.

I hate to say that Eric didnt look much different. Well, actually less red more sweat. So cute aren't they??

Nature + Slaughters = Ticks

This weekend we decided to do a little something different and go on a little nature walk/hike. There is a little trail just a couple miles away that a group of friends and kids showed me and C a couple weeks ago. So we decided to take Eric it was very nice. Duke had a great time in the water as did Eric and Caden.

It was a little warm but it was a nice time. We got home awhile later and lo and behold Caden had 3 ticks on him and Eric had 2. Ick!! Caden was a trooper and didnt even seem bugged by it.

My cravings have been different this time, anything with strawberry makes my mouth water

Strawberry-Banana milkshake...mmmm

Strawberry Muffins...mmmm

and any fruit, good craving to have, huh?

and I feel like this

He's growing up....

that is Eric of course. This past week was his birthday and boy do we know how to go crazy!! Seriously it wasn't too exciting, but he had some time off work, his favorite dinner(spaghetti-yuck) and a little cake. I think overall, it was a pretty good birthday.

Generosity

We have so many dear friends in our life.

We just received this darling blanket and hat from a great friend of mine from high school(Belinda). She made it herself and it is just beautiful!!

I also have received a TON of clothes from another dear friend(Erin) who's youngest has out grown them. It amazes me how giving some can be and she is one that will never stop and I am so appreciative of her.
This littel girl(whatever her name be) is a very lucky and blessed girl.
