Yup, we are heading to freezing Iowa tommorrow. I can't wait to feel like christmas, with snow and all the trimmings. I told eric that I was going to bring every hat, scarf and mittens that I own because I can't wear them in Georgia. He thought that was a little much. But, we'll see. So, stay tuned, I just may post while we are away...if your lucky. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! This is the season of love, giving and the birth of our Savior. Please remember that and all that you have.

I've done it
So, I've thought about it for months now and now I've done it. I cut myself some fringe(bangs). They are so in and here in Columbus, I crave for something trendy. So, I hope you like them, and if you don't, well, too bad.

Caden turns 2
Well, this last Sunday Caden turned 2. And let's just say he wasn't too happy about it. He was quite the grump. We went to church and came home. Caden helped make his cake and then took a nap. He woke up and still was not quite happy. But we forged ahead with birthday celebrations, lit the candles he was digging it, eating the cake, still wasn't digging it. Then we gave him a dump truck and tricycle. Which he loved! All in all a good day!

Warm Town, Warm People, Warm Springs
Well for our anniversary Eric worked for most of the day and I went to a tri-ward craft day. YEAH! Then we finally got together we decided to get the H out of Columbus and head to Warm Springs, GA. It was a quaint little town decorated to the hill with Christmas lights. We went to a good ole' country buffet and had all the greasy food you can imagine and we tried Fried Green tomatoes, tasty! Afterwards we walked around and looked at all the tiny stores. And they had a little jolly train basically a lawn mower with a couple of wooden caboose's. But caden loved the choo-choo and the conductor even had a whistle. Nice sound effects. Not too shabby for a buck! I'd like to say we did more but no such luck, it was a quaint little town and a good break from Columbus!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree
Well, we went against code and set up our Christmas Tree before Cade's birhtday(Dec 2. We just were not sure how often Eric would be home so went forward. And it was fun decorating our new place. The tree actually looks small in our new place. But it is nice and every time Caden see's it he says "Ohhh Pretty"

Thanksgiving
Well, we had a different but very, very nice Thanksgiving this year. We stayed at home by ourselves. Crazy! Caden wasn't feeling the best so we decided to let it just be us this year and it was quite lovely. We had turkey with all the trimmings, not that Caden could care less about eating but we enjoyed making it and eating it. We feel very blessed for all our family and friends and the opportunites that come our way.

Let the shouting begin
Eric started his first day of being an official Drill Sergeant. He is very excited. I other hand am terribly nervous. Every person that finds out Eric is going to be a Drill Sergeant they say and I quote (Oh, well you'll never see him). Wonderful, right? On a positive note I think it will a great job for him he is great at leading and directing soldiers. So, watch out here comes DS SLAUGHTER!

We're Here!
Well, we are here in Columbus, GA. It will be a adjustment from the big city life in DC. But we will adjust. Eric starts work on Monday so we will then see how much of the time I will be a single mom. Yeah, not. There has been high demand for this so here it is our kickin new place. Can I brag? I think so this is my blog. So, here's my brag. We live in a apartment but has the ammenities of a resort. There is a gym, sauna, FREE TANNING, 2 swimming pools, playground for cade-man, tennis court, and putting green. Pretty freaking sweet, right? And our place is huge. All 3bedroom 2 bath. WE are loving our apartment but taking time to get used to the area. But, I'm sure we will find things to like about Columbus, Ga population-not very big. Enjoy the pics and yes, it is messy and not decorated but you wanted the pics, so take what you can get.

Halloween
So, Halloween came and Caden knew the drill take candy while the nice old lady is handing you some so he gets double. Genius! Well, caden went trick or treating he got shy quite a bit but for the most part he would say "RAAA" like a dinosaur. Eric was dressed up as Sgt. Slaughter, Me-Kitty Kat and Carrie a pirate-ARRR!

Why my husband is amazing!
Here is one of the many reason's why my husband is amazing. As we are running the marathon I asked "Er, are you sure you just don't want to run ahead and get a better time? And he said:
"Sweet pea, this race is like our life we start it together, we end it together"
Enough said.

He's going the Distance, We're not going for speed!
Well, Eric and I did it. 26.2 miles! There were some ups and there were some downs. But we survived running hand in hand through the finish line! A couple blisters on boht our feet and I(tabitha) am losing a toe-nail, apparently it's common for runners but very disghusting. We are hobbling around town but hope to be back to new in a couple of days and continue running.

Trunk or Treat!
Well, there is a thing called Trunk or Treat and everyone parks there car and decorates the trunk and the kids go trick or treating to each car. So, we all got dressed up, Eric as Drill Sergeant Slaughter, Me as Kitty Kat and Caden as a Dinosaur! It was a good time Caden caught on quick to grab the candy and put it in his pumpkin!

Working at the Car Wash
Well, yesterday is was quite hot around the 70's. So we thought we would wash the car. Caden had a blast playing with the suds and dropping rocks in the bucket. And mommy had a good time spraying both the boys.

First Haircut
Well, today I did it. I finally talked Eric into letting me cutting Caden's hair. I figured since it won't be humid anymore and curl up it was time to let it go. I think today proved how perfect Caden and I fit, he sat there the whole time, just watching a movie, not moving a bit. It didn't even faze him when I squirted his hair wet. I think I enjoyed it the most, so here are some pictures of our handsome little man.

Cox Family Farm

Well, when Eric was gone Carrie, Cade and I took off to a pumpkin patch. It was intense to say the least. Tons of slides, Cider overflowing everywhere. Cade running like crazy. Carrie and him had a blast on the slides. And went on the craziest tractor ride ever. Overall it was a good time!

Yes, Drill Sergeant!
Well, Cade and I drove down to S. Caroline to see Eric graduate from Drill Sergeant School. It was a good drive. Caden was really excited to see Eric and warmed right up to him immediately. We went to his graduation and Caden wasn't really in the mood to sit or be quite or not kick the soldiers in the back of the row. So, needless to say we didn't get to hear a whole lot of the graduation but got some awesome pictures and saw him get his hat. Well, we left with Eric's papers on top of our car(don't worry the person in charge of the school got them and returned them to Eric-Awesome) And headed back to the hotel. Caden didn't especially love South Caroline and decided not to sleep there. So we checked out and headed home. And it's been great!

Georgia or Bust

Well, Mel and I headed to Georgia. Left our kids and said "see ya". Well, I'd love to say it was the funnest weekend of our lives. But, I don't think we can. We went we found a house, things didn't work out and now we will be renting a townhouse. But, we did make a quick stop in S. Carolina to see a certain someone;) But, we went shopping. Got lost a ton! And learned a second language. Wang dang doodle man!
