ROACHE'S! Yup, doesn't matter where you live they say. Nice, old, new, or blah. There is roaches everywhere you go in the south. But, to make me feel better the bigger the roaches are the better! Means we don't have a problem except for the fact we live in the Dirty South.

Such Excitement
I love how easily excited Caden gets, on the other it's also amazing how quickly they go into break down mode.
He's talking so much now and doing so many things, i often wonder where do they come up with the things they do for instance, Great example. Everday after eric comes home he lays on the floor and caden attacks, he jumps, blows on eric's belly to make funny sounds, kiss's, rides em like a horse. Well, the other day he playing around with eric and lifts up his shirt to blow on his belly does it once and is satisfied well, he doesnt stop there, he lifts eric shirt up all the way grabs his nipple, pinch's it and goes "nipple". I about died laughing, A) where did he learn the word nipple B) the look on eric's face, like he had been violated. Hillarious and embarrasing all at the same time. Classic!

Gordon B. Hinckley

I must say when I heard of the passing of our dear prophet, my heart jumped a little and then was filled with joy. I'll tell you why, I have a grandma who is very dear to me and all that surround her, well several years ago, the love of her life passed away. It was sudden and painful and since then she has ached to be with him again. So, at this time of our prophet passing remember him and the marvelous work and sacrifice he has done for us. Be comforted to know that he is now reunited with his love for time and all eternity.

New Do

Well, after avoiding the unevidable, that is trusting someone besides my beloved Julie to cut my hair, so I took my chances and had Scott do it. Well, Scott didn't really want to listen to what I had to say. So, needless to say it's a tiny bit short. Different, but short. But, it's starting to grow on me and maybe in a couple weeks it will be perfect.

New fashion sense

Along with vanity our son has taken to a new fashions sense....let's say a little more southern. Forget polos, forget gap sweatshirts, this is what's in this winter!

I'm so pretty!
Caden loves the mirror. He runs around with it and screams at himself. I think we might have to work on some vanity issues here. I think Carly Simon wrote a song about him "Your so vain, your probably think this song is about you....

My Birthday
With the Holidays comes my birthday.....Yeah! Well, we had just gotten home the day prior to my birthday. And it was quite a lovely day, Eric worked part day then he came home we ordered pizza had lunch and watched a movie, went shopping for a bit, went and got some Delicious soup and bread bowls from Atlanta Bread(dare I say almost as good as panera). And just hung out, it quite relaxed but I enjoyed it so much.
So for pictures I told eric I wanted a picture of the two of us, but as many of you know my husband can not keep his eyes open for a second when it comes to taking a picture, I'm not exaggerating or being rude, we took 14 pictures. That's right and for the one his eyes are open in, well, you can see how that turned out. But, I love him.

Christmas in Iowa
Well, we headed home to freezing Iowa for Christmas. It was fun getting to everyone again and spending the holidays with them. Caden enjoyed the never ending attention. We got what we came for and that was family, fun and snow. That's right we love the cold and loved the snow. Especially on Christmas Eve when Larry, Eric and I were out shoveling for 2 hours, let it be known I did most of the work while they just sat around and watched. We attempted to take Caden sledding but we didn't' know what the weather was like til we got out there, let's just say when it's 12degrees and 40 mph wind, caden wasn't really in the sledding mood. Eric spent quality time with his brother Jon, going to amateur fights and so on. I had time to read three books which is always enjoyable and go into the art of jewelry making with connie and cookie baking with the cain, slaughter, house woman. Overall it was a very pleasant trip, nothing better then being with family at the holidays.

Oh, there's no place like home for the Holidays...
Yup, we are heading to freezing Iowa tommorrow. I can't wait to feel like christmas, with snow and all the trimmings. I told eric that I was going to bring every hat, scarf and mittens that I own because I can't wear them in Georgia. He thought that was a little much. But, we'll see. So, stay tuned, I just may post while we are away...if your lucky. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! This is the season of love, giving and the birth of our Savior. Please remember that and all that you have.

I've done it
So, I've thought about it for months now and now I've done it. I cut myself some fringe(bangs). They are so in and here in Columbus, I crave for something trendy. So, I hope you like them, and if you don't, well, too bad.

Caden turns 2
Well, this last Sunday Caden turned 2. And let's just say he wasn't too happy about it. He was quite the grump. We went to church and came home. Caden helped make his cake and then took a nap. He woke up and still was not quite happy. But we forged ahead with birthday celebrations, lit the candles he was digging it, eating the cake, still wasn't digging it. Then we gave him a dump truck and tricycle. Which he loved! All in all a good day!

Warm Town, Warm People, Warm Springs
Well for our anniversary Eric worked for most of the day and I went to a tri-ward craft day. YEAH! Then we finally got together we decided to get the H out of Columbus and head to Warm Springs, GA. It was a quaint little town decorated to the hill with Christmas lights. We went to a good ole' country buffet and had all the greasy food you can imagine and we tried Fried Green tomatoes, tasty! Afterwards we walked around and looked at all the tiny stores. And they had a little jolly train basically a lawn mower with a couple of wooden caboose's. But caden loved the choo-choo and the conductor even had a whistle. Nice sound effects. Not too shabby for a buck! I'd like to say we did more but no such luck, it was a quaint little town and a good break from Columbus!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree
Well, we went against code and set up our Christmas Tree before Cade's birhtday(Dec 2. We just were not sure how often Eric would be home so went forward. And it was fun decorating our new place. The tree actually looks small in our new place. But it is nice and every time Caden see's it he says "Ohhh Pretty"

Thanksgiving
Well, we had a different but very, very nice Thanksgiving this year. We stayed at home by ourselves. Crazy! Caden wasn't feeling the best so we decided to let it just be us this year and it was quite lovely. We had turkey with all the trimmings, not that Caden could care less about eating but we enjoyed making it and eating it. We feel very blessed for all our family and friends and the opportunites that come our way.

Let the shouting begin
Eric started his first day of being an official Drill Sergeant. He is very excited. I other hand am terribly nervous. Every person that finds out Eric is going to be a Drill Sergeant they say and I quote (Oh, well you'll never see him). Wonderful, right? On a positive note I think it will a great job for him he is great at leading and directing soldiers. So, watch out here comes DS SLAUGHTER!

We're Here!
Well, we are here in Columbus, GA. It will be a adjustment from the big city life in DC. But we will adjust. Eric starts work on Monday so we will then see how much of the time I will be a single mom. Yeah, not. There has been high demand for this so here it is our kickin new place. Can I brag? I think so this is my blog. So, here's my brag. We live in a apartment but has the ammenities of a resort. There is a gym, sauna, FREE TANNING, 2 swimming pools, playground for cade-man, tennis court, and putting green. Pretty freaking sweet, right? And our place is huge. All 3bedroom 2 bath. WE are loving our apartment but taking time to get used to the area. But, I'm sure we will find things to like about Columbus, Ga population-not very big. Enjoy the pics and yes, it is messy and not decorated but you wanted the pics, so take what you can get.

Halloween
So, Halloween came and Caden knew the drill take candy while the nice old lady is handing you some so he gets double. Genius! Well, caden went trick or treating he got shy quite a bit but for the most part he would say "RAAA" like a dinosaur. Eric was dressed up as Sgt. Slaughter, Me-Kitty Kat and Carrie a pirate-ARRR!
